Dr. Matilda Arabella Evans (1872-1935) ——————- In less than two weeks, the 2008-2009 academic year will begin. I will stand in front of hundreds of adolescents and try to convince them that an educated mind is a powerful mind. As I prepare to meet and teach these beautiful human beings, I often look for stories and images that inspire me to continue doing this good work. Dr. Evans’s life is a testament to the value of education. This photo will hang in my classroom this year and many years hence. *m
